The painting that I am trying to persuade the class is Water Lilies created by Claude Monet. The style of this painting is Impressionism. The painting of Water Lilies is a series of paintings of Monet's garden. Monet said,"It took me time to understand my waterlilies. I had planted them for the pleasure of it; I grew them without ever thinking of painting them." As the water lilies brought pleasure to Monet's life, it as well could bring pleasure to our new library.
The type of painting Water Lilies is Impressionism. Imprssionism is visual reality in terms of transient effects of light and color. Monet created these paintings from 1903-1923. Painting and enjoying he Water Lilies.

The painting that I would like the class to do is the Brooklyn Bridge, by Joseph Stella. Joseph Stella was born on June 13,1877 and died November 5, 1946. He was an American Futurist. He has done many different variations of the Brooklyn Bridge.
I think this painting would look good in the library because it's really stands out, and the artist uses a lot of different techniques. There are a lot of different colors, shapes and it has a lot of space and there are different points of view.

I am trying to persuade the class to paint is Red Canna by Georgia O'Kefee. Even though she was sometimes thought of as a impressionist she really wasn't. She has her own style. She specializes in flowers and the American west. Georgia said "Nobody sees a flower, really, it is so small. We haven't time - and to see takes time like to have a friend takes time."
This painting is colorful and bright. She portrays the flowers in a way that makes you look. I think this will bring color and vibrance to our library media center.

I chose Vincent Van Gogh's piece; Sunflowers. Vincent Van Gogh was the son of a pastor in Holland in 1893. He was brought up in a religeous and cultered atmosphere and he wasn't very happy. He didn't have a good love life and he wasn't very successful with his careers. He decided to become an artist so he could "give happiness by creating beauty". Then while visiting his brother in Paris, he started going mad and he went to an asylum for treatment. There he died in 1890 because he shot himself. During his career, he sold one painting. A lot of artists try to copy his art, but they don't have the same enlightment that Van Gogh put into his pieces.
The painting Sunflowers shows the difference between life and death in sunflowers. He makes the colors flow into eachother. I think it should be on the library wall because it looks pretty and shows the natural looks of sunflowers and it's a living and non-living treat for the eyes.
